Qualifying mobile sheep handling systems and sheep equipment on the Farming Investment Fund Farming Equipment and Technology Fund grant scheme

As part of the Farming Investment Fund section of the Farming Equipment and Technology Fund, livestock farmers and contractors in England have access to grant funding for sheep handling equipment.

Here is a breakdown of qualifying equipment, specific criteria and items available for nationwide delivery through Wise Agriculture.

FETF Sheep Handling Equipment

Mobile Sheep Handling Systems - FETF69 (Grant Amount £3,100)

  • Trailer mounted with trailer integrated into systems as handling race

  • 250 head minimum capacity

  • 20 hurdles to be used as gathering and forcing pens with minimum of two side pens

  • Integrated drafting and dosing race with ability to fit a foot bath

  • Road legal

  • Metal construction (wood elements including race flooring, gates and hurdles are not eligible)

  • Metal work must be galvanized or powder coated (painted items are not eligible)

 

3.0m Porta-Yard Mobile Sheep Handling System

New to the UK, the 3.0m Porta-Yard mobile sheep handling system checks all the boxes for those looking for a high quality piece of equipment that is also very user friendly.

  • 250 head capacity can be increased when used with existing fence

  • 1.0m high top sheeted alloy hurdles as standard. Sheeting protects the legs of working dogs and keeps sheep from trying to jump hurdles

  • 20 alloy hurdles as standard with options to purchase additional components separately

  • Solid panels for dosing and handling races

  • Hydraulic lift and lower allows for fast and easy setup and takedown

  • Forcing pen and gate

  • Integrated race section on trailer with three-way drafting capability

  • Rubber floor

  • Road legal

  • Hinge system that is compatible with other brands of mobile sheep yards
